Founded in 1995, Kimura Shukokai International emerged after the unfortunate passing of Soke Shigeru Kimura, a 10th Dan master. The Chief Instructors of our organisation had the privilege of training under Master Kimura for many years, forming a deep-rooted connection to his teachings.
At the helm of Kimura Shukokai International today stood four of Master Kimura's most esteemed disciples:
Shihan Eddie Daniels 9th Dan from Great Britain (1949-2020),
Shihan Bill Bressaw 9th Dan from the U.S.A,
Shihan Chris Thompson 9th Dan from South Africa South,
Shihan Lionel Marinus 9th Dan from South Africa. North
These four Shihans, each having trained under Master Kimura for over 25 years, carry forward his legacy by imparting his distinctive techniques.
As the official World Governing body for Kimura Shukokai Karate, KSI holds the torch of tradition while continuing to evolve. Our organisation has extended its reach across continents, spanning Europe, North America, Africa, and Asia, fostering a global community of practitioners. Today, KSI stands as one of the world's largest single-style martial arts organisations, dedicated to preserving and promoting the essence of Kimura Shukokai.
Being a part of SKF goes beyond just a single club or a country – it's about belonging to something much larger. With dojos all over the world, no matter where you are, there's bound to be a KSI club nearby.
