SKF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019
The 2019 SKF Nationals was a memorable event, as this year brought some outstanding performances from Cadets to Seniors.
ARION VESELLI won the Outstanding Cadet Award where ESME GATZANIS won the overall Outstanding Competitor with her great performance.
SKF KIMURA CUP 2018
The recent annual SKF Kimura Cup took place and bought some outstanding performances throughout the Cadets & Senior divisions.
Most notably from the Kimura Cup winner himself, JOE WOOD from Kent who showed some real up and coming talent winning both his Kata & Kumite divisions which really impressed Shihan Daniels & the SKF Squad Coaches.
SKF NATIONALS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018
The recent SKF Nationals 2018 saw some outstanding displays from both the Juniors right through to the Senior divisions.
Shihan Daniels was really impressed with the standard shown and expressed how good the talent was within the SKF which is great for the future of the federation.
Joseph Cooper-Dalley on the Best overall Cadet of the Day and Mia Daniels won the Best Senior overall competitor with her fantastic display.

SHIHAN DANIELS KATA COURSE - NEIPAI
Shihan Daniels recently held a kata course at SKF's Headquarters at Portway Lifestyle Centre, to introduce the new kata Neipai.
A very interesting and exciting course which left all students motivated learning the new kata.

The SKF England team had a fantastic performance at the recent KSI Europeans in Estonia returning with 8 GOLD, 6 SILVER & 9 BRONZE.

This years Kimura Cup proved to be an exciting one with some International visitors competing.
Also with some of our Juniors moving up from Cadets to the Senior divisions and showing that they can compete showed good promise.
Shihan Daniels was very happy with the outstanding talent on display.
Kimura Cup went to JOSEPH COOPER-DALLEY for a superb display in both Kata & Kumite.
SKF HQ OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017
SKF Portway recently hosted the annual SKF HQ Open Championships and what a tournament it proved to be with some outstanding performances in Kumite, Kata & the popular Impact categories.
SKF Portway would like to thank all the SKF dojos for their support for the championships and look forward to hosting and welcoming all to next years SKF Open tournament in 2018.
SHIHAN DANIELS SPRING COURSE 2017
Shihan Daniels held his annual Spring course at our SKF HQ, Portway Lifestyle Centre with a great turnout from all SKF students.
We had some guests from KSI Australia, Sensei Paul Pirie and his wife also attend.
Shihan worked on Impact and timing over the 2 days, with the Black belt gradings taking place on the Sunday.
SKF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017
The recent SKF Nationals for 2017 attracted the biggest attendance in many years with over 130 competitors from all SKF clubs bringing the most exciting and competitive championships in recent years.
Shihan Daniels awarded the best competitors of the day to Jason Lee (Best Cadet) and Brandon Taylor (Best Overall Competitor).
SKF KIMURA CUP 2016
This years Kimura Cup championships saw some explosive Kumite matches and top Kata performances.
Shihan Daniels was very impressed with the standard on show and was very pleased at the spirit and determination of all participants.
The Kimura Cup was awarded to Peter Jelf this year for his outstanding display.
KSI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016
Berlin - Germany
The 2016 KSI World Champs were held at the prestigious Estrel Convention Centre in East Berlin in July 2016, and what a memorable championships it truly was.
Team England had a very succesful tournament finishing 3rd on the medal table with 6 Gold, 9 Silver & 6 Bronze.
To top a fantastic competition, all our World Chief Instructors, including our very own Shihan Daniels all were promoted by the KSI council to 9th Dan.
Shihan Daniels was over the moon with the squads overall performance, after months of hard work and preparations.

WCIC 2016 - Lisbon - Portugal
The annual World Chief Instructors Course (WCIC) was held in Lisbon, Portugal.
Over 500 students from all over the world attended a fantastic week of training with the guidance of our 8th Dan KSI Leaders, Shihan Daniels (UK), Shihan Bressaw (USA), Shihan Marinus (South Africa) & Shihan Thompson (South Africa).
The week consisted of Impact, Timing and in depth teachings of our Kimura technique. A most enjoyable and very eventful week of training with the KSI family.

SHIHAN DANIELS SPRING COURSE 2016
The recent Shihan Daniels Spring Course was full of energy and enthusiasm from all that attended.
Shihan worked in depth on Gedan barai and applying the correct concept when using the block and return.
A great course appreciated by all.
As always the course was followed by the Kyu & Dan gradings at the end
SKF NATIONALS 2016
The recent 36th SKF National championships were yet again the best to date, with over 130 competitors competing at the highest standards Shihan Daniels was very proud of from young Cadets all the way through to the Adult sections.
The most outstanding Cadet Shield winner went to Natalie Mycka (Kent) and the most outstanding competitor went to Peter Jelf (Portway).

KSI EUROPEAN OPEN CHAMPS 2015
Lucerne, Switzerland
SKF's National Team recently returned from the KSI European Open in Lucerne, Switzerland with a Table topping 10 Gold, 6 Silver & 9 Bronze medals.
The Mens Kumite Team won a record breaking 5th Team title in a row, meaning they have held title for 10 years straight.
The team were superb and raised their game to perform at the highest level, and it oozed throught the team from Junior to Adults in peak performance.
Shihan Daniels was extremely proud of the whole squad and after months of hard preparations the results were thoroughly deserved.
The squad now look forward to KSI World Championships in Berlin in July 2016.
SKF KIMURA CUP 2015
The recent annual Kimura Cup championships was held at our great sporting venue - Portway Lifestyle Centre.
This was the biggest SKF championships for over 10 years with nearly 120 competitors in attendance.
The standard was extremely high, and competition very intense with so many exciting matches in both Kata & Kumite from Cadets through to the Adult sections.
This years deservedly Kimura Cup winner was Andrew Hall from Shaw dojo, his performace has excelled over the last 12 months and his performances certainly hasn't gone
unnoticed.
3rd KENT OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS - 2015
SKF Kent karate dojo recently invited all its fellow SKF members to their SKF Kent Summer Open held at Swadesland Leisure Centre in Lenham, Kent.
Members from all over the country traveled down to join the local Kent dojos to what was to be a fantastic event enjoyed by all. There were some great competition and also gave a chance to some new comers to get a feel for competition.
Kent invited Shihan Daniels to be amongst the event, along with other Senior Instructors Sensei Keith Cockburn 6th Dan (Shaw), Sensei Solfrid Daniels 6th Dan (Portway) & Sensei Audun Daniels 5th Dan (Fortknocks).
A benchmark has been set and it's a pleasure to have this competition now as part of our official SKF diary of events calendar.
5th SKF HQ OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS - 2015
SKF Portway held its annual Open Championships which to date was the biggest yet.
Fantastic performances throughout showed in Kata, Kumite and the ever popular Impact event.
Shihan Daniels was very watchful and identified many fresh talented individuals who showed real promise for the future.

The annual World Chief Instructors Course was held in Long Beach resort in USA. One of the main events in the KSI calendar was very well attended from all over the world, to learn from our World 8th Dan leaders, Shihan Daniels (England), Shihan Thompson (South Africa), Shihan Marinus (South Africa) & Shihan Bressaw (USA).

SHIHAN DANIELS - Spring Course 2015
Shihan Daniels latest Spring course focused on the blocking and countering take off.
A very well attended course saw a fantastic buffet meal on the Saturday evening enjoyed by all.
As usual the Dan Gradings took place on the Sunday after the Course.
During the course Sensei A Daniels presented Shihan Daniels with a Special Samurai Award for his outstanding 50 years of service to Karate from all the SKF Instructors.
SKF NATIONALS 2015
The recent 35th SKF National championships, was on Shihan Daniels opinion the best standard he has ever seen throughout in 35 years of SKF competitions.
Everybody from in both Kata and Kumite in both Cadets all the way to Adults performed to a high standard to which the SKF has a very promising future.
Shihan Daniels was awarded a special thank you for a special day for 35 years of SKF.
The most outstanding Cadet Shield went to Luke Walster (Shaw) & Most outstanding senior went to Katie Simpson (Kent).

KIMURA CUP 2014
The SKF Kimura Cup 2014 was once again a superb days of competition at the highest standards throughout.
Shihan Daniels was extremely impressed with the Cadets this year and commented that he thought that this year was the highest standard in Kata events which was so competitive to say the least, was the best he has ever seen at any event previous. Not forgetting some extremely high level Kumite matches which were electric.
A exciting days of competition saw the "Kimura Cup" awarded for the second year in a row for her outstanding achievement to Emma Bradley (Fortknocks).
KSI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014
Sun City - South Africa
SKF's National team returned home from the recent KSI World Championships held in Sun City, South Africa with a great amount of medals winning 1 Gold, 6 Silver & 6 Bronze.
The venue (The Superbowl) was breathtaking and made for what was probably the best KSI event to date. The bar was raised incredible.

An incredible SKF Nationals were held at our new home Portway Lifestyle Centre, which proved to be the biggest entries in over 13 years.
A huge congratulations to all the clubs who supported the tournament.
Some tremendous talent was on show in all categories and a benchmark has definately been set for future championships here at Portway.
This years Adult Best competitor went to Peter Jelf, and brother & sister Brandon & Jordan Taylor both got awarded the Cadet Best Competitor for their performances.
SHIHAN DANIELS SPRING COURSE 2014
Shihan Daniels 2014 Spring course was the last event to be held at our old headquarters as we move on to our new home.
A great turnout with so much enthusiasm and energy proved to be the stamp mark for 2 days of great training, focusing on our core basic ethics.
Shihan worked on the gearing which was greatly needed as a refresher to most and new to others.

Shihan Daniels recently travelled to Kotka Finland to teach a course for the Finnish Kimura Shukokai Federation, headed by Shihan George Pursiainen 7th Dan.
A great turnout with over 150-200 people on the course.

The tournament mainly aimed at our younger
students, was this year very well attended and was the biggest to date.
Spectators enjoyed a fun packed day with
the competitors giving it their all in KUMITE, KATA & IMPACT events.
The spotlit finals created a great
atmosphere where the roof was raised as cheering for the competitors was electric.
This championships is going to prove even
bigger next time around.
SHIHAN DANIELS AUTUMN COURSE 2013 & DAN GRADINGS
Shihan Daniels recent Autumn Course bought together a great atmosphere and hungry to learn students.
Shihan again worked on brushing up on "Unsu" which some needing a reminder of the Kata.
Shihan worked in depth on the Kata, also allowing the students to work on the Bunkai application which all enjoyed greatly.
On the Sunday after the course was the Dan gradings, and congratulations to all that passed.
A most enjoyable course was had by all.
KIMURA CUP 2013
The recent Kimura Cup 2013 took place at Haden Hill Leisure Centre, and brought some amazing and outstanding displays of talent this year. Probably one of the strongest displays across the board in recent years.
The Winner of the Cup this year was Emma Bradley (Fortknocks). An amazing performance all around which saw her reach 4 finals.

SHIHAN DANIELS KATA COURSE "Unsu"
Shihan Daniels recently taught the Kata "Unsu" to all members on a course at the SKF Headquarters.
A very well attended and enthusiastic lot of students and instructors worked very hard, to learn this exciting Kata.
A lot of positive comments came from a great course enjoyed by all.

The recent KSI European Championships 2013, were held in Helsinki, Finland.
The SKF National team did us all proud and came away from the championships with 12x GOLD, 3x SILVER and 4x BRONZE.
A seriously fantastic achievement and team effort by all. The squad topped the Medal Table.

The recent SKF Nationals were held at Haden Hill Leisure Centre, In Halesowen, and was very well attended by all dojos.
This year saw some outstanding displays from especially the juniors which showed some very high standards.
Shihan Daniels was very impressed to say the least.
The best senior competitor of the day went to Jenny Loftus, a truly magnificent performance, whereas Mia Daniels took the best Cadet Competitor award.

Shihan Daniels recently travelled to Kos, Greece accompanied by Sensei Solfrid Daniels to do a seminar for the KSI Greek students, headed by Sensei Patrick Makris 5th Dan (Chief Instructor).

Shihan Daniels recent Autumn course was very well attended by all including Sensei Eddie Horn 7th Dan (Chief Instructor Germany), and his students Sensei Nico 4th Dan, Sensei Udo 4th Dan and Markus 2nd Dan.
Shihan Daniels worked on Basic attack using Mikon/Gyakuzuki and working on counter combinations, with the Junior grades and intermediates.
The senior grades were to have a refresher on Suparinpa, which was very exciting to go over as many needed as they had forgotten parts.
KIMURA CUP 2012
The Kimura Cup 2012 staged some of the most exciting atmosphere the SKF has seen in recent years.
With the introduction of new Cadet Team Kumite & Pairs Team Kata events these have proved to be very exciting and competitive indeed.
The talent on show was outstanding especially in the junior sections, and bolds well for a strong future of the SKF.
The Kimura Cup was awarded to Sensei Audun Daniels this year for his outstanding performance throughout the championships.

Atlantic City, USA
The KSI World Championships for Kimura Shukokai Karate were held in Atlantic City, USA in July 2012.
The SKF National Team had very successful results, winning 3 GOLD, 6 SILVER & 8 BRONZE.

SHIHAN DANIELS KENT COURSE 2012
The annual Kent Course & England Squad training with Shihan Daniels was a great turnout, with students getting a chance to train with SKF National Squad members who also made the trip down to Kent.
Shihan Daniels worked on timing work, and put everyone through their paces.
The saturday evening was a great social event, with the Kent students & parents all helping out to make the visitors from other clubs feel very welcome.
A great course overall, with lots of positive feedback, the next one is going to be even better so be sure to get this one in the diaries for next year.
SKF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2012
The recent SKF Nationals 2012 were held at Haden Hill Leisure Centre, where competitors from all dojos took part in one of our flagship events.
This year saw some outstanding fights, throughout cadets and seniors with also a few surprises which is also good to see.
Shihan Daniels was very pleased with the standard and etiquette shown throughout from all competitors. Whether victory or loss their was fantastic sportsmanship and comaraderie from all, and generally a fantastic atmosphere.
KSI WORLD CHIEF INSTRUCTORS COURSE 2012 (WCIC)
The annual Kimura Shukokai International WCIC were recently held in Potsdam, Germany.
Many students from all over the world landed to be part of what is one of the most enjoyable experiences for a student within Kimura Shukokai.
The course was taught by our 4 World Chief Instructors Shihan Daniels, Shihan Marinus, Shihan Thompson & Shihan Bressaw.
Sensei Clem Braithwaite, Sensei Keith Cockburn, Sensei Audun Daniels, Sensei Solfrid Daniels, Sensei Paul Richards, Sensei Chris Simpson, Sensei Steve Farrow, Sensei Martin Visser, Sensei Esme Gatzanis & Ben Walster accompanied Shihan Daniels from the UK.
A most enjoyable experience and a must to all those Kimura Shukokai practisioners who have yet to attend such event.
SHIHAN DANIELS GERMANY COURSE - NOVEMBER 2011
Shihan Daniels recently visited Germany to teach his annual Autumn course to over 200 students whom attended the course.
He was accompanied by SKF Assistant Chief Instructor Sensei Clem Braithwaite 7th Dan.
The trip also included a visit to the German Headquarters where Shihan Daniels had a few days to relax with senior students including German Chief Instructor Sensei Eddie Horn 6th Dan, prior to the main course.
SHIHAN DANIELS CANADA COURSE - NOVEMBER 2011
Shihan Daniels recently visited Canada to teach a course to all the Canadian students which included Chief Instructor Sensei Dave Bentley 5th Dan.
He was accompanied on the trip by Sensei Solfrid Daniels 5th Dan.
Shihan Daniels taught various things including Kata's & Bunkai applications, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
SHIHAN DANIELS AUTUMN COURSE + DAN GRADINGS
Shihan Daniels 3 Day Autumn course was a very well attended and exciting course, enjoyed by all, where Shihan taught the high ranking Kata, "Suparinpei".
Shihan Daniels worked on all aspects of the kata, including the "Bunkai" application partner work.
A throughoughly enjoyable weekend it was, where on the Saturday evening a great gathering of all the students, parents, & instructors where all socialised and had a good time.
On the Sunday was of course the Black belt gradings, and there were 4 new black belts, joing the dan grade family. Elle Osborne, Padraig Cuffe, Thomas Manning & Michael Pereira all from Kent dojo.
SKF KIMURA CUP 2011
The recent Kimura Cup championships were held at Haden Hill Leisure Centre.
This year was the best championships to date with so many new young and talented youngsters from all dojos.
There were alot of fantastic performances throughout all the categories this year, and the standard was so high, in which Shihan Daniels commented how pleased he was wih it.
The Kimura Cup was presented this year to Sensei Paul Richards, who although he didnt compete Shihan Daniels felt it was only right to award the Kimura Cup which he has never won, for all his services to the SKF and major achievements over the years.
A truly fantastic day overall.

Walsall - England
The recent KSI European Championships 2011, were held in Walsall, England.
As host nation of this years fantastic event, the SKF National team did us all proud and came away from the championships with 5x GOLD, 7x SILVER and 10x BRONZE.
A seriously fantastic achievement and team effort by all. The squad came 3rd overall on the Medal Table.
KSI WORLD CHIEF INSTRUCTORS COURSE (WCIC) 2011
New Jersey - USA
Shihan Daniels, accompanied by Sensei Solfrid Daniels, Sensei Audun Daniels, Sensei Paul Richards & Sensei Martin Visser, to the annual KSI WCIC, held in New Jersey, USA., with Shihan Eddie Daniels, Shihan Chris Thompson, Shihan Lionel Marinus and Shihan Bill Bressaw.
Students from all over the World came together for what was the biggest and best to date, which was enjoyed by all and left a real buzz of excitement!!!
The week came and went far too quickly but it showed that with such positive energy and vibes flowing throughout, it really showed that KSI is certainly one big family, thats constantly growing and growing.

SHIHAN DANIELS SPRING "3 DAY WEEKEND" COURSE
Shihan Daniels annual Autumn course & black belt gradings recently took place at our Headquarters, on 11th-13th March 2011.
This course was split into two sections, where Shihan Daniels worked on the blocking and timing with the Junior grades, and the Seniors learnt the new Kata "Gojushio".
It was nice to see many new faces at this course, which was very well attended by all dojo's, and everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves, in both training & socialising..

KSI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010 - PORTUGAL
The KSI World Championships for Kimura Shukokai Karate were held in Lisbon, Porugal in May 2010.
The SKF National Team had very successful results, winning 9 GOLD, 5 SILVER & 2 BRONZE. A fantastic result in which saw the squad come 2nd overall on the World Championships Medal Table.
